Sarah Van Zanten persevered through an unhealthy relationship and now reaches out to help others stuck in abusive relationships. As a sophomore in high school, Sarah thought she was lucky to be dating a senior football player. Instead, she realized how unlucky she was after being pushed and kicked so hard that she bruised ribs and got a concussion. More recently, Sarah has served as a member of the Liz Claiborne task force on teen dating violence helping to launch the 24-hour Internet and telephone abuse hotline in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. |
