Throughout her life Jodi has struggled with balancing the battle of a full-fledged, 17-year ongoing eating disorder and the desire to help others overcome their eating disorders. It was not until she checked herself into the Renfrew Center in Florida at the age of 22, that she reached a point she could comfortably call recovery. She has now been in recovery for many years and is finally able to focus whole-heartedly on her dream to help others overcome their battle with anorexia, bulimia, compulsive exercise, and compulsive over eating.
Over the years Jodi has shared her journey of overcoming anorexia nervosa and compulsive exercise with an array of audience members. She has a talent for pulling people in to the intimate thoughts and details that haunt those with eating disorders. In addition to speaking about her personal experience, Jodi enjoys helping to bring understanding to parents, family members, and friends of those struggling with eating disorders. She is an active advocate, working with both the Renfrew Center’s and the National Eating Disorder Association’s advocacy outreach programs.
