Session Presenter - Heather Horton
Heather Horton is the Sexual Assault Response Coordinator and directs the Sexual Assault Response and Prevention Program at Colorado College . She is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who works directly with students seeking support and resources after an assault, to ensure that they have all the information they need to make decisions for themselves. Heather supervises a group of CC students that provides education, information, support and referrals on issues of sexual violence and harassment. She also acts as a liaison to off-campus agencies and organizations, such as service agencies, hospitals, police departments and district attorneys. Additionally, Heather is responsible for designing and implementing prevention education programming to increase awareness and involvement in stopping sexual violence. She conducts training with residential life staff, administrators, and faculty, as well as educational workshops on a variety of topics such as causes and behaviors associated with sexual assault, the role of alcohol in sexual assault, drug facilitated sexual assault, sexual harassment, domestic violence, healthy sexuality, consent, communication, and bystander intervention.
