Petey Peterson
Director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusivity, Tulane University

Petey Peterson is responsible for overall leadership, administrative and programmatic direction for the office of Gender & Sexual Diversity at Tulane. With 10 years of experience doing gender and sexuality work in higher education, Petey previously worked at Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio; where they served as the Director of the Office of LGBTQA Affairs.

They also worked in LGBTQI Life at Vanderbilt University. Petey received a Bachelor of Science in Child, Adult and Family Services; a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies; and a M. Ed in Higher Education (Student Affairs) from Iowa State University. Petey has a wealth of knowledge and experience in gender, sexuality, and equity. They most recently served as the Advancement Coordinator and Equity Officer for the ACPA Coalition for Sexuality and Gender Identities. Petey is a Hufflepuff, Cancer, and “furparent” to two pups (Max & Silver). They enjoy hiking, biking, non-competitive kickball, good coffee, and now snowballs!
