Meet Carrie Lennox
Alcohol Educator & Independent School Administrator

Pronouns: she/her/hers
The big “sister you wish you had” with a story you’ll never forget, Carrie captivates with her story of growing up with an alcoholic brother. The heart pain and bail-outs help bring to life the larger impact of substance use. Carrie shares strength and conviction to inspire students to take every opportunity to make choices for the good of themselves and their communities. Carrie is an impactful educator who is great at connecting with students of all ages on topics of substance use, mental health, and other high risk student safety issues.
After graduating from Colgate University in 1992, Carrie became an educator and taught history for 20 years, before making the transition into independent school administration in 2013. She is now the Associate Director for Admissions and Financial Aid at Breck School, in Minnesota, where she’s spent her entire career in education. As an educator, Carrie has taught, coached, advised, led committees, chaperoned trips, met with parents, hosted student events, attended workshops and conferences, and spoken in front of many groups. However, Carrie never imagined she would find herself speaking to audiences about her experiences with drug and alcohol abuse and addition. While Carrie’s life followed what some would call a “normal” path — high school, college, career, and family — her brother’s path went a completely different direction. Jamason’s path started innocently enough, partying with friends like many of us do; however, this path led to addiction, divorce, homelessness, treatment, hospitalizations, periods of sobriety, relapses, health issues, depression, and isolation. And, while their lives run parallel, they also intersect.
