Meet Jon Vaughn
Survivor of Sexual Abuse & Former Professional Football Player

Pronouns: he/him/his
Jon Vaughn is a former professional football player who was a running back and kick returner in the National Football League (NFL) for four seasons (1991-1994) for the Seattle Seahawks, New England Patriots, and Kansas City Chiefs. Jon revealed in July 2020 that he had been sexually abused by late University of Michigan doctor, Robert E. Anderson (1928-2008) after allegations began emerging about the physician in February 2020. Vaughn became active in efforts to hold the university accountable, including speaking about bills aimed at removing barriers that would allow victims of Anderson to sue the university. One of his most high-profile activities includes camping outside the home of then-University of Michigan President Mark Schlissel in October 2021. In 2022, The Foundation for Global Sports Development (GSD) honored Jon with its prestigious Humanitarian Award.
