Jordan S. West, Ph.D. is a senior Diversity Officer and faculty member in Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies at The George Washington University. In her administrative capacity, Dr. West is responsible for creating and implementing sustainable and transformative change across the institution that informs people, policies, and practices in continuing to shift the campus toward a more positive and just climate.
Dr. West’s professional experience includes Princeton University, Syracuse University, University of California Berkeley, and Pennsylvania State University in Residence Life, Fraternity & Sorority Life, Multicultural Affairs, Admissions, Athletics, and more. Dr. West identifies as a scholar-activist and is a formally trained social justice educator and facilitator. Dr. West’s experience and research interests focus on campus climate, narrative and storytelling as a method, and how BIPOC and individuals from historically marginalized identities work towards liberation while in higher education through the lens of Black Feminist Theory and Critical Race Theory.
