Meet Mackenzie Wong

Take Back The Night Social Media Coordinator & Survivor of Rape

Pronouns: she/her/hers

Growing up, Mackenzie Wong was known for her goody two shoes, positive and outgoing nature. She was complimented on her natural ability to lead and her joyful outlook on life. She graduated high school ready to make a difference in the world, excited for the future and was told by teachers she should be an inspirational speaker. On her birthday in college, her entire life was paused when she was raped by a student athlete. After the assault, the joyful person disappeared, and her passion for life died.

Through her healing journey, she’s learned to come to terms with the grief of losing the person she once was and learn to find joy again and create a new, brighter version of herself. She found purpose in helping other survivors on their healing journeys, educating people on consent and rape culture on college campuses and toxic masculinity in sports. She joined Take Back The Night in 2024 to make a difference.
